Staying healthy is the first priority for everyone. Every person during his lifetime wants to stay away from diseases and expects to spend his life happily.

But some bad habits which people adapt very quickly can make their life miserable and insufferable.

Not getting enough sleep, Excessive alcohol consumption, eating lots of junk food, nail-biting etc.. could bring a difference in your life. but a little effort and change in habits could bring a drastic change to one's life.

Things that people have been doing wrong, and how to fix them:

1). Skipping breakfast:


Our day starts with breakfast but a little fluctuation could bring a catastrophe in one's life. If you skip breakfast your body function will slow down to conserve energy and save calories; this will slow down your metabolism and deteriorate your ability to concentrate. 

You'll likely overcompensate by eating more at lunch. Studies by the American Journal of Epidemiology says that skipping breakfast leads to Obesity and not a just overweight issue.

Skipping the first meal of the day can have serious negative consequences for your weight, your energy levels, and even your blood sugar. Skipping the fuel keeps your metabolism running on low, which can lead to weight gain and sluggishness.

Solution To This: 

Keep a few minutes in the morning to make a little breakfast. It doesn't need to be a full platter to provide you with the solid supplements you need to cherish your morning. 

Attempt your hand on one of those on the go breakfast that will make your mornings more nutritious without delaying your daily work.

Sleep is one thing which every living organism in this planet needs. and a little disturbance in sleep could make one nauseated and tired.

On an average, a person should get minimum 7-8 hours of sleep for a healthy morning. not getting the desired amount of sleep causes higher fluctuation in blood pressure, weekend immune system, and the risk of getting exposed to diseases, stress, Depression, Weight gain and many more things.

Make a commitment to getting more sleep, look for common sleep thieves: caffeine and light. Avoid caffeine for 8 hours before going to bed, and restrict the reach of excess light and sound from your bedroom. 

And changing daily routine might also work in sparing some time for sleep. Avoiding late night working and movies and late night eating also proves to better sleep.

5). Overuse of painkiller and sedatives:

Take these when needed, taking them for small pains or for fun can cause a severe effect on our body. For frequent headaches consult a nearby doctor, Migraines can be stopped quickly with the right medication.
Keep a record for hidden signs, note the Clues getting after too much of a tranquilizer which includes memory loss, excess sleepiness, feeling unresponsive and falling frequently.
And when in pain, the best way is to consult family members, friends, or nearby doctor. There’s no shame in asking for help from.

A good posture exhibits a healthy life. A person can be judged by just looking at his posture. A person posture defines his way of living.

Many people have the habit of sleeping or sitting idle just after dinner or any meal. One should never sit idle or go to sleep just after dinner. After dinner, the cholesterol and bad fat gets accumulated near the stomach and creates a wall which gets stuck to the bladder, and causes problems like constipation and indigestion. 

But walking for 20-30 minutes after dinner helps in preventing the accumulation of cholesterol and bad fat near the stomach, And walking after dinner also helps in faster digestion of food. In long run, these small habits prevent constipation problem and also prevents heart diseases.

Nowadays, people don't have time to spare on such small things. but when it comes to health, one shouldn't ignore such things.

It requires only 20-30 minutes of walking after dinner which can save their life from many diseases. After dinner waits for 10-15 minutes and then take a night walk for 20-30 minutes(no need to run).

8). Spending too much time on screens:

Between jobs that require employees to stare at screens all day, to social media and streaming videos which is the most popular pastimes, to our phones acting as mini-computers, it's quite rare we are ever completely disconnected from digital screens.

There are serious things too much screen time harms our eyes as well as it disturbs our mental stability. Use of smartphone by youth has increased exponentially over these years, which makes it very hard for everyone to leave these things.

We can't completely disconnect yourself from smartphones and laptops but we can make a conscious effort to disconnect from screens for a few hours a day.

Avoid falling asleep on your computer in your bed or your television on. If you find yourself consumed by social media, consider taking a break from a few accounts and reconnecting in real life with the people you care about.

9). Doing the same workout:


Spending time to get active is an accomplishment of its own, so you'll want to be maximizing your time and energy.  If you never vary your fitness routine, your body adapts to it after time, and muscle will stop growing, people likely to get bored with such continuous workout if they are doing the same thing every time, making it easier to find excuses to skip the gym altogether.

In fact, a University of Florida study found that exercisers who varied the type of exercise were 15% more likely to work out regularly than those sticking to the same routine.

Solution to it: 

Commit to adding a little workout to your daily routine. Even something as simple as changing the route of your morning’s walk or creating a new workout soundtrack can add some interest to your present routine.

10). Nail biting:


Biting your nails makes your hand look ugly and with the passage of time can interfere with natural nail growth, damage the outer layer of your teeth, and damages nails look such as split nails. Because germs are transferred directly from your mouth to your nails, you risk causing infection to your nail bed(outer layer) as you chew. In very few cases, the nail bed(outer layer) got permanently damaged.

Nail-biting can cause damage to your teeth as well. Harmful bacteria like "Staphylococcus" also live underneath nails—and you don’t want to bite on that.

Solution to it: 

Keep a nail file every time with you – in your purse, in your cupboard, in the car, and at the office. Every time you have the desire to bite, file it instead.

Go for a professional manicure once every 2 or 3 weeks, suggests Angelica Kaner, Ph.D., a clinical professor at Yale University Medical School because when your nails look pretty, you’ll be less likely to snack on them—especially after you’ve spent a hefty amount of money to make them beautiful.

11). Eating with dirty hands:

Clean Hands is the key to a healthy body and mind. Washing hands with soap or hand wash simply restricts spreading of germs and bacteria. If you wash hands before the meal the soap kills the bacteria and pathogens present in your hand and stop them from entering your body, which could make you sick and lower the immunity.

If you do not wash hands after the meal and touch your belongings with those greasy hands you leave a thin residue of food that later after hours start getting rot and develop fungus. 

This fungus comes in contact with you and makes you ill. only 3.8% of children involved had diarrhea when parents washed their hands with soap compared to 12.5% of children whose parents did not wash their hands at all.

Wash your hands properly with soap, before and after having the meal. Our hands spread as well as pick up illness-causing germs quite easily.
